The Opportunity

We are looking for a recruitment consultant who will work closely with our external partners and our recruitment managers to ensure that we recruit the right people in the right positions.

Ensuring that our candidates and hiring managers have the best experience, with an efficient recruitment service supported by a solid understanding of processes, policies and legislative knowledge is key to this role.

As a recruitment consultant for our external services, you will work primarily on temporary hires, responsible for the entire end-to-end recruitment process, including retention of talent pools, talent attraction, search proactive headers and verification. You will be able to confidently advise and guide hiring managers and candidates through every step of the recruitment process, ensuring SLAs are met. This role will play a crucial role in building the capacity of Essex County Council (ECC).

In this role, you will actively manage candidates, including providing feedback throughout the process, ensuring a positive experience, and creating and managing job postings.

Vacancy progress tracking and reporting will be essential, including full ROI, to guide future attraction decision-making and support the completion of compliance checks.

This function offers a 10% bonus and specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually as part of performance management.

The experience you will bring

Ideally, you will possess CIPD (Level 5 or above) or a similar or experientially qualified professional qualification, with evidence of ongoing professional development and specialist knowledge in a relevant professional area.

You will have experience delivering high volume with exceptional results, a proven track record in strategic recruiting partnerships, and a deep understanding of attraction methods and technology, including anticipated market developments. You will be comfortable in challenging systems and processes and curious to learn as new policies and legislation emerge.

With your strong communication and influencing skills, you will have experience working collaboratively, managing external vendor contracts, with the ability to extract maximum value for an organization. Using the experience of evidence-based decisions and monitoring and communicating management information to stakeholders is essential.

Naturally, you’ll be able to recruit at pace, work comfortably in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple campaigns in an efficient and organized manner, and meet high talent quality demands. You will be passionate, proactive, with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic that will delight the client.

You must have experience delivering highly skilled recruitment services with the ability to work collaboratively within a company, achieving high satisfaction from hiring manager and candidates in surveys.
