OU Hires Leah Beasley as AD Executive Assistant for External Engagement
NORMAN – Vice President and Director of Athletics at the University of Oklahoma Joe Castiglione announced Thursday that Leah Beasley will join OU as Associate Executive Director of Sports for External Engagement, overseeing the areas of communications, digital media, graphic design, licensing/branding, marketing/l commitment from fans, SoonerVision and the box office.
Beasley joins Norman after a nearly 10-year stint at Mississippi State University, where she most recently served as Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs, chairing the areas of Broadcast Operations, Communications, and Content/Creative, Bulldogs digital and revenue, fan experience/outbound ticket sales, fan marketing/engagement, and sponsor retention/activation, and served as primary sports administrator for baseball and secondary administrator for football. Her duties as Deputy DA also included participation on the University’s Risk Management and Behavioral Intervention Teams, University and Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Councils, Planning Committee University Transformation and the Athletics Department COVID Task Force and NIL Task Forces.
She was hired by MSU in August 2013 as Assistant Director of Sports for Marketing and was promoted to AD Associate for Marketing and Fan Engagement in August 2016, AD Senior Associate for External Affairs in August 2017 and AD Senior Executive Partner for External Affairs in August 2018.

Beasley also served as MSU’s athletics department liaison with Bulldog Sports Properties, chaired the Meetings and Recognition Committee, served as a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Council, and was a founding member of the fan experience. Additionally, she has served several campus entities including the Communications Council, Alumni Association, Student Affairs, Licensing and Branding, Safe Zone/Ally, and the Presidential Commission on the Status of Women. .
Born in Ruston, Louisiana, Beasley is an active member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (board of directors), Women Leaders in College Sports, and International Collegiate Licensing. Association.

Prior to Mississippi State, Beasley served as an assistant AD and associate AD at Louisiana Tech University, where she led the marketing, branding, and game management departments.
Beasley graduated from Louisiana Tech in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and received her master’s degree in business administration in 2006. She also played softball at Louisiana Tech and was a four-year winner.
Beasley’s hiring is pending approval from the OU’s Board of Regents.
