John Revier appointed Director of External Engagement and Communications at INL

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho – John Revier has been appointed director of external engagement and communications at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).

The External Engagement and Communications Branch, which is new to INL, will focus on outreach and partnerships with regional organizations. The group includes business partnerships and technology transitions, community and regional engagement, government affairs (state and federal), and communications. The creation of this leadership was part of the Next-Level INL initiative and helps to maximize mission results and position INL for future success.

INL is one of 17 national laboratories. From research and discoveries in advanced nuclear energy and carbon-free energy options to protecting our country’s infrastructure, the INL team pushes the boundaries to redefine what is possible.

“John’s experience in federal and state government relations, along with his demonstrated leadership abilities, will contribute to INL’s success,” said INL Director John Wagner.

Revier will take office on September 6. He has served as Director of National and Regional Government Affairs for INL for the past seven years. In this capacity, Revier served as the lab’s primary interface with the State of Idaho, local governments, and other stakeholders in the region. In his new role, Revier will improve the effectiveness, efficiency and integration of external laboratory elements and activities, helping INL speak with one voice to external audiences.

Prior to joining INL, Revier served for more than 14 years as Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff to Idaho Rep. Mike Simpson. Prior to that, John worked for Minnesota Senator Rod Grams in his state offices and in Washington, DC. Revier is a Minnesota native and a graduate of Mankato State University.
