JEA Appoints Director of External Affairs to Complete Leadership Team | Jax Daily Record | Jacksonville Daily Record

JEA says their management team is now full.

The municipal public service announced on August 17 that it had hired Laura Schepis as head of external affairs.

Schepis will manage JEA’s government affairs, media relations, communications, environmental operations and compliance oversight services with an annual salary of $ 283,254, according to a press release.

Schepis, 50, was senior director of national security policy for the Edison Electric Institute in Washington, DC, for the past three years, where she focused on preparing the industry for natural disasters and attacks against the energy grid, the statement said.

Schepis has also held leadership positions with the Affordable Clean Energy Partnership and the American Public Power Association and is a graduate of the University of Georgia Law School.

JEA chief executive and CEO Jay Stowe has appointed seven executives since announcing in February he would be restructuring senior public service staff.

Stowe became the CEO of JEA in November.

“Since joining JEA, I have worked to develop an unbeatable leadership team that delivers business excellence,” said Stowe.

“With Laura now completing the team, JEA is led by a strong group of executives who have a legacy and institutional knowledge of our operations and are ready to lead JEA into the future. “

JEA officials say Schepis will debut at JEA at the end of September.

Here is the full seven-member management team that reports directly to Stowe:

• Jody Brooks, Administrative Director.

• Laura Dutton, Director of Strategy.

• David Emanuel, Director of Human Resources.

• Raynetta Curry Marshall, Chief Operating Officer.

• Theodore B. Phillips, Chief Financial Officer.

• Sheila Pressley, Director of Clientele.

• Laura Schepis, Director of External Affairs.
