India: Visit of the Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri V. Muraleedharan to Zimbabwe and Malawi (06-09 June 2022)
The Minister of State for External and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri V. Muraleedharan will pay an official visit to the Republic of Zimbabwe (06-07 June 2022) and the Republic of Malawi (08-09 June 2022).
During the visit to Zimbabwe, the MoS will visit HE Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and meet with other senior leaders of the country. He will also meet with HE Dr. Frederick Shava, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe on various issues aimed at enhancing mutual cooperation.
During his visit to Malawi, the MoS will visit HE Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of Malawi and meet with other senior leaders in the country. The MoS will also meet with HE Mrs. Nancy Tembo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malawi on matters of mutual interest and cooperation.
MoS will also meet with a wide cross-section of the Indian community in both countries and participate in events marking ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations during the visit.
The MoS will also review the progress of development assistance projects under Lines of Credit (LoCs) and Government of India grants in the two countries.
India shares excellent bilateral relations with Zimbabwe and Malawi in the political, economic, cultural and development aid fields, which have been particularly strengthened in recent years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Indian leaders have maintained close contact with the leaders of the two countries and supported them in their fight against the pandemic. The visit of the Minister of State for External Affairs would give new impetus to the multifaceted relations with these countries.
