Employment as External Engagement and Communications Officer with MAYNOOTH UNIVERSITY

Department: Graduate studies

Vacancy ID: 016461

Closing Date: 31-Jul-2022

The role

The Irish Universities Association (IUA) is the representative body of the university sector. It recently secured funding for a major new project to develop a micro-qualifications system in Irish universities, providing a consistent national framework for quality assured and accredited micro-qualifications. This full-time contract position is funded by this project.

The MicroCreds project is a four-year programme, funded by the Human Capital Initiative of the Higher Education Authority, aimed at establishing a system of quality assured and accredited micro-degrees across the seven universities of the IUA. MicroCreds will provide upskilling/re-skilling opportunities for those in employment and those seeking to improve their employability, and foster lifelong learning in Ireland, in close collaboration with businesses. The MicroCreds program will develop a collective national framework for micro-degrees across all universities; strengthen engagement with companies for the development and deployment of micro-certification programs; and develop a coordinated “showcase” portal to publicize micro-certificates.

Maynooth University is looking to recruit an External Engagement and Communications Officer to manage and facilitate the University’s engagement with businesses and other key stakeholders for the development of micro-certificates. Reporting to the Microtitles Project Manager, the Engagement and Communications Officer will also work closely with colleagues in graduate studies, the external relations office, and academic departments to develop marketing and promotional campaigns for the University’s suite of microtitle offerings. The successful candidate will drive internal communications initiatives, manage the promotion of the microtitles on the University’s web and social media channels, and manage and administer the project budget.
