The statement read in full

“This is to confirm that one of our own, former APC State Chairman, Hon. Duerimini Isaacs Kekemeke is in the running for National Vice President (South West).

“Kekemeke has the full support of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his fellow South West Governors.

“It should be noted that key stakeholders in the South West had previously microzoned positions that were brought to the region. Among these were the National Vice President who was retained in Ondo and the Secretary who was microzoned on the Oyo/Osun axis.

“In short, the Kekemeke aspiration is not just an Ondo project; it is a South West project. He has paid his dues and that is exactly what the Governor has rallied his colleagues to make. Those who peddle other stories such as the national secretary outside of Oyo and Osun are instruments in the hands of outside forces willing to divide the rulers of the South West in order to impose people on the Left.

“To emphasize, what we are looking for is the National Vice President with Kekemeke as a candidate and not the National Secretary. Those outside the South West who try to microzone our offices for us in the South West are just doing create unnecessary confusion and each of their permutations outside the decision of the South West players should be ignored.”
